Lovely Poole is an LCSW with over 15 years working with children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. She obtained her master’s degree from Clark Atlanta University, a Historically Black College and University. She is a therapist with extensive experience working in the medical and mental health field.
Ms. Poole understands the hesitation of opening and the stigma associated with seeking mental health support. The historically rooted lack of autonomy and respect experienced by marginalized communities informs her culturally sensitive approach to care. She provides a safe space for her clients to develop strategies to overcome negative emotions and provides a safe space for healing.
She uses a combination of CBT, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills (DBT skills), Trauma Informed approaches and more. She has worked in multiple social service settings, and this has given her the insight that is needed to understand systems and how they affect client emotions which helps her to support her clients to achieve positive outcomes.
She is committed to guiding individuals towards harnessing the power within them to overcome obstacles and emerge stronger from the experiences that have tested them.
